Educational Opportunities and Excused Absences for Kentucky Students Visiting the Kentucky State Fair

Students are invited to Kentucky’s largest classroom, the Kentucky State Fair, to learn about everything from agriculture to history at the annual summertime celebration. Running Aug. 18-28, fairgoers can explore acres of exhibits highlighting farming, agribusiness, history, arts and more at this year’s Kentucky State Fair.

Excused Absence

Take a day off from school and come to the Kentucky State Fair. Going to the Fair is a state-wide excused absence for Kentucky students. Students can request an excused absence form online at https://kystatefair.org/excused-absence.

AgLand

AgLand offers unique experiences that are fun, entertaining and educational for any fairgoer. Children can enjoy interactive areas and displays while adults can learn about different farming techniques and ag-related products. Discovery Farm is perfect for families who love animals like horses, cows, llamas and more. The Southland Dairy farm also conducts live milking demonstrations every day of the Fair.
