Celebrate All Things KY, All in One Place at the KY State Fair
August is near, which means it’s almost time for the most exciting celebration in the Bluegrass – the Kentucky State Fair. Steeped in rich agricultural heritage and full of Kentucky Proud flavor, the fair is a showcase of livestock, World’s Championship Horse Show Saddlebreds, blue ribbon competitions, homemade goods, mouthwatering treats, and good old-fashioned family fun. This year, we’re proud to celebrate All Things Kentucky, All in One Place.
Each year, the Kentucky State Fair looks forward to celebrating Kentuckians’ achievements and talents, but this year, we are also proud to join the nationwide celebration of America’s 250th birthday, culminating in 2026. It’s a fitting celebration for a facility where Freedom Hall, a building whose very name echoes the spirit of our nation, stands at the center of the property. From showcasing Kentucky’s agricultural roots to honoring the American values of hard work, community, and pride, the fair stands as a reminder of the freedom and opportunity that define our country.
In addition to the America250 celebration, we will also commemorate another historic milestone this year – Wilderness Road 250. A special exhibition will mark the 250th anniversary of Daniel Boone and his company of men and women blazing a clearer trail along the ancient buffalo trace and cut through the heart of Kentucky across 160 miles and adjacent to the Kentucky Exposition Center on what became Preston Street.
I invite you to join us from August 14-24 in Louisville to celebrate the essence of Kentucky and its people, but as you make your way through the Kentucky Exposition Center, you may notice a little extra activity and dust. Our property is in the midst of exciting improvements as part of the first phase of the Kentucky Exposition Center’s expansion and renovation project. These upgrades will help us better serve fairgoers, and exhibitors for years to come. We appreciate your patience as we build a better future and look forward to welcoming you to this year’s incredible 11-day celebration.
