Celebrate America's 250th Birthday All Summer Long
Semiquincentennial — a tough word to say but an exciting milestone to celebrate!
It's no secret America turns the big 2-5-0 this year, and there's a plethora of ways to celebrate. However, most don't realize the celebration will go long past July 4. In fact, it's a year-long celebration of our nation's history and heritage.
At the Kentucky State Fair, August 20-30, we're pulling out all the stops to celebrate the occasion, with an entire exhibit in the South Wing. The United We Stand at 250 exhibit gives guests the chance to be part of history and make forever memories with family while exploring stories of the Commonwealth's contributions to our nation's story. The name itself is a nod to Kentucky's own state motto — a phrase born from a Revolutionary War song and carried on our state seal and flag ever since. Inside, visitors can snap a photo inside a giant recreation of the Kentucky State Seal, challenge friends to a colossal Kentucky trivia board game, and much more.
Along with the exhibit, the Kentucky State Fair is celebrating America's birthday with a commemorative logo, patriotic tagline: Where County Traditions Meet Our Country's Celebration, America250-themed competitive entry classes, America250KY live mural paintings, and so much more.
All 120 counties, one Commonwealth, one celebration.
